Roseberry Funeral Service was founded in Redcar in 2014 by Michelle Thurston-Balam, following a lifelong career in funeral service and a passion for providing truly personal care to families at one of the most difficult times in their lives. After gaining extensive experience across the profession and returning home to the North East, Michelle fulfilled a long-held ambition to establish an independent funeral service built around compassion, transparency and community.
What began as one funeral home has grown alongside the families we serve, with offices opening in Marske in 2015 and Guisborough in 2022. While we have expanded over the years, our values have never changed. We remain proudly independent, locally owned and committed to ensuring every person entrusted to our care is treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
Today, Roseberry Funeral Service is supported by a dedicated team who share the same commitment to providing personal guidance, clear advice and unwavering support. We continue to invest in our people, facilities and services, while staying true to the principles we were founded on: putting families first, remaining rooted in our local communities and delivering the highest standards of care every day.
